About the Project
We are developing single-molecule gene expression fluorescence reporters to monitor the production of protein molecules in real time. We are currently using the genetic switch of phage as a model system to investigate the transcription mechanism of the lambda repressor CI.
Additionally, we have fluorescently tagged various sites in the E. coli genome using a fluorsecent reporter system in order to study the dynamics ofthe chromosome under various conditions. We are also interested in the mechanisms of transcription in the context of live cells.
